![]() We saw Brave at the El Capitan Theatre, which is one of the best ways to see a magical movie. You will know doubt be seeing those red curls bouncing around neighborhoods everywhere, because I have seen the Merida wig and it is beyond gorgeous! ![]() One thing that literally popped of the screen were those red curls!! They had a life of their own, especially in 3D. I mean, a little cartoon eye candy is sometimes nice ) But he never came and she never needed him to. Well, okay I kind of wanted to see a cute prince. What? A princess movie without a prince I found this rather refreshing. Savvy Sassy Spoiler Alert: Now, I don’t want to give to much away, but I kept waiting for the handsome love interest to show up and win the heart of Princess Merida…I thought for sure there had to be some young lad that was going to come and either assist her on her quest or distract her from it. This movie has a great message about listening and respecting one another no matter how different you think you may be.īut don’t worry boys, there is plenty in this movie for you too! In fact the the fight scenes are pretty realistic and rough, my 5 year old son got a bit scared and was holding onto my arm pretty tight. ![]() As a mom of a seven year old girl, I can already see how the mother daughter relationship is a tricky one and I thought they did a great job of exploring this complex relationship. It’s that epic struggle of parents letting go and children fighting for their independence. The heart of this story and the lesson learned is one that I think many people will relate to, not just moms and daughters but any parent-child relationship. At the core of this movie it’s a Mother-Daughter story. Not only is the princess a bit different but the story itself is different from all the other Disney princess movies. Okay, maybe it’s the fire in that hair, whatever. I was rather excited about this movie, because I knew that Merida, the new Disney Princess was going to be different. ![]() This morning we went to the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood to see an advanced screening of the new movie from Disney, Brave. Congratulations to KJ she won the Princess Merida Doll, 3 bear brothers!Ĭongratulations to Debbie she won the Princess Merida Doll, Forest Adventure!
